It builds on the classic SLR shape, but it prioritizes comfort over weight. To achieve this, it features a softer-flexing shell and additional padding. Additionally, it"s rated for both road or mountain use, so it"ll take whatever you throw at it and keep coming back for more. The SLS sits on a reinforced nylon composite base that incorporates a 10% blend of carbon fiber. This adds to the shell"s level of support, while also allowing a controlled degree of flex. The base utilizes the same 131mm width and 275mm length as Selle Italia"s beloved SLR, only the shell is softer than most of the SLR lineup in order to provide a more forgiving feel. And this feeling is bolstered by an extra helping of padding, which makes the SLS an excellent option for long rides. To minimize chafing, while also increasing durability, Selle Italia incorporated a microfiber cover. And supporting the saddle itself, the SLS features Selle Italia"s Manganese Tube rails. Along with being lightweight, these rails strong enough that Selle Italia rated the SLS for mountain bike use.
